Hey! I’m Harini, creator, writer, and editor of Sparkies. As a student, having to read articles that drag on and on can be such an arduous activity. So, I was driven to write short posts in which important content can be absorbed from every sentence – Sparkies.
My journalism experience as a monthly op-ed columnist for my local newspaper was incredible. During those three years, my writing and editing methodology shifted focus to what readers like you actually want to learn. As you can see in my Portfolio, I covered a variety of topics: the power of introversion, school dress codes, participation trophies, sustainable waste, Black History month, and more.
I was also a summer intern for a non-profit, the Shreya R. Dixit Memorial Foundation. Specifically, I was part of the writing committee. The foundation is dedicated to distraction-free driving and transforming driving cultures. Through the program, I further developed research and analytical skills, as well as an understanding of current events.
Well, that’s a bit about me! Make sure to stay tuned for new Sparkies every month. After all, each Sparky is a little thought for a big picture.
